Kintaro Japanese Restaurant was an excellent dining experience. The food was absolutely delicious. From the appetizers to dinner specials to the desserts all the food was exceptional. It is definitely worth the drive if you are staying near the restaurant on the island of Kauai. I hope you have a chance to enjoy this great Japanese restaurant.

My daughter made us last minute reservations and we were glad that we could get an early dinner reservation at 5:30. We were there early and the line grew quickly. We were glad to have been seated immediately and our appetizers were ready within 10-15 minutes. Each time we added to our order, we had a very minimal wait time. We came with our appetites that we had forgotten to take pictures of some of our dishes that we ordered. Definitely need to come again and try some other dishes that we didn't get to order. All in all we had a great time there.

Great restaurant located just 10 mins away from the airport. Ample parking across the street (side street) and free to park. Turnaround of food right after ordering is so quick and efficient that it makes it more fun to order ala carte as you go. Must have the steak bites, misoyaki butterfish, soft shell crab hand roll, and won tons (classic original). Incredibly friendly staff, skilled sushi chefs, and good quality food at very reasonable prices. I could eat here everyday or at least first and last meals for each time I visit.

This was a great experience. We watched our food be prepared. Steak and fish on point. Absolutely loved the vegetables. We opted for fried rice and prepared fresh right on the spot. We had sake. I tried cold and warm. I think warm makes it more buttery and smoother.

Got this recommendation from a couple of locals and my goodness am I glad we came. My wife and I have now been here 3 times during our vacation. The food and service here is amazing! Each time, Gwen has been our server and we absolutely love her! Amazing customer service and food recommendations. Wonderful sushi and the king crab is to die for. Miso soup is very favorable and we love the muscles.
